Forms2Base
Forms2Base is a stand-alone forms
automation and communication product offering from Field2Base without the hosted communications of
Field2Base Enterprise. This product enables paper forms to be converted to
digital forms which can be completed from a Tablet PC. The completed form
may be transmitted wirelessly as an email attachment to desktop PCs or
passed to an enterprise "back-end" system using an industry
standard XML interface. Forms2Base is included in the software license for
the Field2Base Enterprise product but may also be licensed as a stand-alone
product, for companies who only need forms processing capabilities. The
communications for Forms2Base is embedded in the forms document, easing
transmission, like all other documents from Field2Base.
Forms2Base consists of:
Forms Designer – a
desktop application that allows office personnel to load a digital image of
paper forms into the application and add characteristics for each form
field. This includes fields for printed text, numeric input, alpha-numeric
input, dates, bar codes, data mapping, photos and calculations.
Forms2Base client – a
Tablet PC application used by field personnel. The Forms Designer software
pushes electronic forms out to the Tablet PCs, via the Field2Base
server. Field users are able to
access these forms on the Tablet PC and instantaneously turn their paper
forms into "smart forms" that take full advantage of the hand
writing recognition capability of the Tablets.
Core Features of the Forms2Base Application include:
- Use of Existing Forms - field users do not have to be retrained and are
instantly productive.
- Embedded Communications - field users can simply fill out the form and hit the
"Send" icon on the Tablet. . The background communications
processor takes care of sending the form to the Field2Base server,
where it is logged into the database and forwarded to the intended
recipients.
- Digital Camera - photos can be added to forms with 'point and tap' ease
of use.
- Integration - With Forms2Base clients can migrate to a fully automated
process for field data collection and processing. Form data can be
communicated as an attachment to an email, as data to an FTP site or
as standard XML via web service all without the user managing the
communications.
